We designed BEAST Race Brushes in conjunction with the top speed skiers in the country. Critical elements in our system are type, diameter and length of fiber, quantity of fibers in each tuft, and spacing of tufts. We even use a flexible strap so a brush will lie on its back on the bench and not roll over and become contaminated like other oval brushes.
Although even World Cup Techs don't completely agree on each brush and sequence of usage, they all agree that brushing is extremely important. It's proven that skis that started off slow can be brought to World Cup speed with repetitive brushing and waxing.

Stiff Stainless Steel Oval
Favorite "break-in" brush by World Cup techs. Mellow out new
grind by knocking down peaks of the structure with aggressive brushing and also etching in microstructure. Follow
with coarse fiber pads to remove fuzz from aggressive brushing.

Soft Stainless Steel/Horsehair Oval
Designed primarily as a pre-waxing base conditioning brush
for removal of existing wax and oxidation. However, many techs are using this as their post waxing brush for
harder waxes. The fine steel fibers gently remove wax from finer structures.

Stiff Bronze/Horsehair Oval
This one belongs in every tuning box. Stiff bronze fiber combined
with ring of horsehair for multi uses. Some techs use as their #1 prep brush to condition base before waxing.
Others use as post waxing brush for harder waxes.

Soft bronze fibers with outer horsehair ring. Primarily used as
a post waxing brush for medium to soft waxes. Fine fibers are necessary for removing excess wax from the micro
